Great Frigatebird (Fregata minor), with young not quite fledged. These long lived birds go through a myriad of stages, both as young "nestlings", and fledglings with several "sub-adult stages."

Miss the expanded commentary, but the pictures and the title "Always two, there are..." is commentary enough to enrich my soul.

Well, I stated above, "especially the Black Noddy..." but the more I look at the picture of the White Tern adult and chick, the more I see the commentary of the concrete, iron, and rust behind them...art and insight...and commentary, indeed.

an island of chicks, somehow i feel left out ;) lovely white ternage, the chick looks like it has the coloration of a young APC's head pattern (just stretched to cover its whole body)
The adult Black Noddy looks a lot like the grumpy blue eagle from the muppet show. And that's from one science lover to another. Your pictures are amazing!
